What is the best way to connect to an offsite server?

The office I work at is going to be opening a new location in December. Our database is currently hosted on our on-site server running Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server SP2. For billing purposes we need to have the database shared and hosted at our current location. Is it possible to link the two networks and what would be the best way to do so?What is the best way to connect to an offsite server?
The preferred method to link your satellite office to your main office is as follows:

Establish a data link between the two offices. Your telecom service will offer you several options. The faster the speed the more expensive.

You will then need to setup a site-to-site VPN. Does your current router support VPN? The VPN will assure the connection is secure. A great example of a router/firewall/vpn appliance is the Cisco ASA 5500 series.

How many users will your satellite office have?

If your users need to access more resources from your main office, it is recommended to put a domain controller in your satellite office. This will increase performance on the satellite office end by not trying to constantly download date from your main office server.
