What difference to you expect from your server in a causal restaurant compared to a more formal one?

I have been a restaurant server for almost two years but worked in a causal sports bar, I was just transfered to a new restaurant that is more upscale. It is not fine dining but it is nice, kind of a knock off of a Seasons 52. I feel like I provide good service to my guests but I am worried my personality while working might not fit in this new environment.

What major differences to you expect from your server when dining at a nicer restaurant? What difference to you expect from your server in a causal restaurant compared to a more formal one?
In a formal environment I would probably expect the server to be a bit more reserved, quieter, and not quite as bubbly as a server in a sports bar. I would also expect them to be very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu and the wine menu. In other words, someone who can make a great recommendation with confidence. But then again, it all depends on the ownership of the establishment you are working in. That is very important. In order to be successful, you should probably adjust your style according to their style. Who knows, maybe the owner will be very outgoing and bubbly and personable. And then maybe that style will work well in that particular environment. What difference to you expect from your server in a causal restaurant compared to a more formal one?
I think it really matters what kind of customer you're dealing with. If it's just some family who's having a birthday at a nice restaurant I would act differently than if I was serving some snobby looking old couple. What difference to you expect from your server in a causal restaurant compared to a more formal one?
People are people. After doing this for 2 years, you know how to read them. Leave them alone, chat them up, flirt, talk to baby...It's the same stuff everywhere.
